Cohen Brothers Judo Now at Ultfit!

The Cohen family has traveled the world to learn the newest training methods and techniques and ultimately pass them on to their students. Steve and Irwin have over 50 years combined experience in both playing and coaching at the highest level the sport has to offer.

While they take great pride in their athletic achievements, they both agree there is much more to Judo then winning. Membership and participation in the club instills good training skills and habits that will take each student from excelling on the Judo mat, to excelling in life's arena. Through competitive Judo, students learn strict work ethics, self-discipline, and respect for oneself and also respect for their opponent. This makes Judo more than a sport, but rather a training ground for life's successes and failures.

Historically, Cohen's Judo Club has been an extension of one's family. Cohen's Judo Club allows kids of all ages to be members of the same club. When the kids of Cohen's Judo Club go to a competition, they go as a single team. The older team members are like big brothers and sisters to the younger kids; whereby lasting friendships are made between children of all ages.

MUNDELEIN – When you talk to brothers Irwin and Steve Cohen about what it takes to be an Olympic athlete in judo, they will talk a lot about commitment.

"It's a sacrifice and a commitment," Irwin Cohen said of making the Olympic team in judo.

Those endless hours of commitment could ultimately pay off in a big way for four Olympic hopefuls plus every student under their tutelage.
